The Synthesis Assignment is due Thursday 4/2.

You will choose 3 of the motifs from the 12 on the guided worksheet. Then find, read, and annotate a minimum of FOUR scholarly articles to support the meaning and relevancy of the motifs.The articles should address each motif selected, not just one or two. So you'll need one article per motif. Monday we will work on the assignment in class and I will load the pink document on the blog so you can type at your leisure or you can create your own document. The final product is a major grade for the writing category.
WARNING: this is NOT a night before or AO assignment. Schedule your time wisely to finish on time.
If you want to work this weekend, I would suggest choosing your motifs and finding the articles, print them, and annotate one or two.

Synthesis: I've included a few articles to help you make your selections, but you will probably need to continue finding research articles elsewhere. I would suggest using the Media Resources Page & Google Scholar. Try searching with phrases: topic + The Great Gatsby + (scholarly article) or (literary criticism) or (scholarly research) or (critical lens) or (critical approach)

If you can't find something, look again. I promise the sources are out there. Searching is a puzzle and it's not easy. Research is research for a reason. Of course, NO blogs, uncredited author(s)--credentials should be known and verified, no published student essays, no wikipedia, sparknotes, enotes, or the like. No shmoop. If in doubt, don't use it. Follow these rules or you will NOT receive credit for any of the assignment.
